Sport Lisboa e Benfica informs that it has reached an agreement with FC Copenhagen, from Denmark, for the permanent transfer of the football player Diogo Gonçalves.

The athlete arrived at Benfica in 2008/09 (coming from CFT Faro) and went through all the youth ranks before making his debut for the first team in 2017/18 against SC Braga, on August 9, 2017.

On loan from the Eagles, Diogo Gonçalves played for Nottingham Forest and Famalicão, respectively, in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons. In the 2020/21 season, he returned to the club.

The midfielder/winger made 98 appearances for Benfica's first team, for which he scored three goals.

SL Benfica wishes the player all the best in this new phase of his career.
