Gonçalo Ramos

Gonçalo Ramos scored two goals

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Always chasing after the result and wanting the victory - that's how a sold out Cathedral saw Benfica against Sporting, this Sunday, January 15, in a game from matchday 16 of the Liga Bwin. Two goals from Gonçalo Ramos were the response given by the eagles (draw 2-2) to Bah's own goal and Pedro Gonçalves' penalty.

Benfica-Sporting

First, at 20', João Mário received a pass from Enzo on the right side of the box and shot low to Adán, who made a good save. In the next minute, it was Rafa who appeared on the same side, passed through a defender and, in front of the opposite keeper, pressured by Matheus Reis, shot to Adán's new save.

The two consecutive chances that Benfica had to open the scoring were answered by the away team, who went ahead through an own goal from Bah, after being put under pressure by Trincão (0-1), in the 27th minute.

Benfica

Grimaldo, at 35', hit a frontal free kick but was denied by Adán, who could do nothing two minutes later, at 37', after Gonçalo Ramos' shot for the equalizer (1-1).

Until halftime, Benfica still tried to reach the opposite goal with danger, but there were no more goal opportunities and the draw was maintained.

Neres

Benfica ended the round with 41 points from 16 rounds, four ahead of second-place Braga and will face Santa Clara in the next round, matchday 17, at 6 pm on Saturday, January 21, at Estádio de São Miguel, in the Azores.
