A young international from the United States of America arrives at Benfica from the Philadelphia Union team.

Born in Ecuador, Marcos Zambrano is a U-18 player and has US citizenship. To wear the Sacred Mantle "is a dream", and the former Philadelphia Union player is excited to represent Benfica, "the best Portuguese club".

"For me, being here is a dream. To be able to wear the jersey of one of the biggest teams in the world and a club that has one of the best academies in the world is a dream! I know that Benfica won the Youth League and that is the best Portuguese club. I am very happy and eager to play", said Zambrano.
He first began playing football in his home country, but it was at the Philadelphia Union that he stood out through his quality and finishing ability. He arrives in Portugal with ambition.
He played for Ecuador's U-16s, he an international with the youth national teams of the United States (U-17 and U-19) and was recently called up for a training camp with the North American Under-20s. Still, he pointed out the aspects in which he can improve by coming to play for Benfica.

"Football in Ecuador is very different from European football. At Benfica I can develop my football skills because of the quality of the players. Tactically, Benfica is a very good team", he stressed.

The reds' new signing plays in the attacking front, and his references are well-defined. "I like Lewandowski and Benzema, because I like to finish and build attacking plays", revealed the young player.
