The "Benfica - Ateitis futbolo akademija" is taking shape

Sport Lisboa e Benfica has signed a partnership agreement with Ateitis futbolo akademija, from Vilnius, to open a Benfica Football School in Lithuania. Bernardo Carvalho, Benfica Expansion director, and Dainius Gautitis, director of the Lithuanian academy, represented the parties at the ceremony, at Estádio da Luz.

The agreement foresees the opening of a Benfica Football School in the city of Vilnius, Lithuania, which will count on the permanent presence of a Sport Lisboa e Benfica coach in the School's coordination.

Benfica and Ateitis futbolo akademija have already been collaborating since 2022, having since then promoted the holding of several Football Camps with the Benfica methodology.

This partnership now enters a new phase, and the Benfica Football School will be called "Benfica - Ateitis futbolo akademija", which will aim to train athletes between the ages of 3 and 15.

Similar to other international projects, Benfica thus expands its scouting capacity to the potential of Lithuanian football. "Benfica - Ateitis futbolo akademija" will start its activity in September 2023, although several Football Camps are scheduled to take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, until then.
