João Neves: "We played very well, that's what is asked of us"

"We put into practice what we trained, we played very well", summarized João Neves after Benfica's 1-5 win away at Portimonense on matchday 32 of the Liga Bwin, this Saturday afternoon, May 13. 

"It was a good game. We studied the opponent, we put into practice what we've trained, we played very well, that's what is asked of us. We only depend on ourselves until the end of the Championship, that's the most important thing", claimed João Neves. "We don't feel champions, we only depend on ourselves, on our work, that's what we are going to do", completed the midfielder.

In the 4th minute of the game, Benfica was already winning at Portimão Estádio...

"Going into games strong is the Benfica mystique, thinking about winning from the first to the last minute. That's what we did and that's what we will continue to do", stressed the midfielder.

Distinguished as the best player on the pitch, João Neves was as categorical and eloquent in his words as he is with (and without) the ball on the pitch: "The important thing is not the individual, it is the collective. I just want to bring joy to Benfica"
