Roger Schmidt was elected the Best Coach of the Liga Portugal Bwin, an award that he receives in his debut season at the Club and in Portuguese football.

In a vote carried out by the coaches and captains of the teams participating in the competition, the Best Coach of the Liga Portugal Bwin distinguishes the German, who guided the team to the 38th National Championship! In the Liga Bwin, the reds have won 28 matches in 34 rounds, totaling 87 points.

With 82 goals scored, Benfica's offensive record surpassed that of the other opponents in 2022/23. Defensively, the team coached by Roger Schmidt also stood out, as it conceded only twenty goals, the best performance of the competition.

It should be noted that, throughout the season, the Benfica coach received three Liga Bwin Coach of the Month awards, for August, October/November and December/January.

In a season crowned with the 38th league title, Benfica also had five players in the Liga Bwin League Team of the Season: António Silva, Otamendi, Grimaldo, João Mário and Gonçalo Ramos.
