Benfica already knows its possible opponents in the qualifying tournament for the group stage of the basketball Champions League, as well as the rivals it may meet in the competition.

In the draw held this Wednesday, July 5, in Mies, Switzerland, Benfica learned that they will face TSU Tiblissi (Georgia) in the quarterfinals. If they qualify, they will face the winner of the match between Patrioti Levice (Slovakia) and AEK Larnaca (Cyprus) in the semi-final.

Then, keeping their successful path, the eagles will face the winner of the Bakken Bears (Denmark)-KB Peja (Kosovo)/Kalev Cramo (Estonia)-Norrkoping Dolphins (Sweden) pairing in the final. The location of the tournament is still to be determined.

It should be noted that Benfica, if it wins this qualifying round, will be integrated in group G of the basketball Champions League, with PAOK Mateco (Greece), Filou Oostende (Belgium) and Hapoel Jerusalem (Israel).

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
