Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Egypt's Pyramids FC have signed a technical partnership - the Club's first with an international First Division club - aimed at sharing knowledge and developing women's football at the Egyptian academy.

Present at the ceremony were President Rui Costa and Vice President Manuel de Brito, and, representing the Egyptian club, Mamdouh Eid, President of Pyramids FC, Hany Said and Omar Medhat, Sporting Director and Commercial Director, respectively.

Speaking to BTV, the vice-president of the Club, Manuel de Brito, explained what the first phase of the partnership consists of.

"President Mamdouh Eid wants to invest a lot in training. In this first contact, we will send a technical coordinator and a coach, focused on 15–19 years. In terms of international recognition, it also shows that we are moving up the chain of clubs interested in us. 'Made in Seixal' is touring the world, and we will continue to grow", said the vice-president of Benfica.

For the president of Pyramids FC, Benfica's academy has "the best project" and "knows this part of football better than anyone".

"With what Benfica offers, we can achieve something magical and take our academy to another level. With this, we can help football in Egypt and even Africa", praised Mamdouh Eid.

The future is to increase cooperation with additional coaches between the various levels and according to the Club's methodology. The cooperation also covers the possibility of developing Schools for athletes from 4 to 16 years old in "Powered by" with SL Benfica.
