Fernando Pimenta, canoeist of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, demonstrated his class one more time by becoming world champion of K1 short race during the World Marathon Championships, in Jels, Denmark. In this Thursday's Final, August 31, he beat the competition with a time of 14:14.32 minutes.

World champion in the discipline in 2022, Fernando Pimenta qualified naturally for the final after finishing the 1st semi-final in 3rd rd place, with a time of 14:56.52 minutes, behind Mads Pedersen (1st) of Denmark and South African Ulvard Hart (2nd).

However, in the final, Fernando Pimenta surpassed in 1.53 seconds the winner of his series in the semi-final, relegating him to 2nd place. Thus, the Benfica athlete recorded a time of 14:14.32 against 14:15.85 of the Danish. To close the podium was the Norwegian Eivind Vold with the mark of 14:28.66 minutes, who is the current European Champion.
