Sport Lisboa e Benfica inform that have reached an agreement with Celtic, as Paulo Bernardo joins the Scottish club on a season-long loan.

The midfielder started his football career with Benfica Soccer Schools and played in all youth training categories.

Paulo Bernardo’s debut for the first team, took place on November 2, 2021, in the Champions League, against Bayern Munich in Germany. It was the player’s first of 26 appearances with the reds.

In the second half of the 2022/23 season, on loan from Benfica, the midfielder played for Paços de Ferreira (13 games and two goals).

What a great atmosphere in Amoreira, it's the Red Wave! Visiting the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota for the 32nd and antepenultimate matchday of the Liga Betclic, Benfica imposed themselves and won 1-2. The Eagles' goals on Saturday night, May 3, were scored by Aursnes and Otamendi.

The celebration of the five-time champions at Benfica Campus!

Before and after the match from matchday 21 of the Liga BPI, against Clube de Albergaria (5-0), the women's football team of Benfica was showered with crowds while celebrating their 5th league in a row. The afternoon began with an autograph session attended by hundreds of fans and, at the end of the game, there was time to lift the trophy and take it to the central stand of Benfica Campus Field No. 1, in a celebration in total communion with the fans.
