The UEFA Refereeing Committee has appointed Turkish referee Halil Umut Meler, an international since 2017, to referee the Champions League Group D match between Benfica and FC Salzburg at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon.

Mustafa Eyisoy and Kerem Ersoy will be the assistants and Arda Kardesler the fourth official.

Turkey's Alper Ulusoy will be in the role of video referee (VAR), assisted by Abdulkadir Bitigen (AVAR).
