The Reds face Portimonense at the Portimão Estádio on matchday 6 of the competition.

In Vizela, in the last round, the men under Roger Schmidt extended their winning streak in the competition to four, and now they face an opponent who recorded their first win in this edition of the competition on matchday 5, away to Vitória SC (1-2).
As home team, the Algarve side suffered a defeat (1-3) and a draw (1-1) against Boavista and Estrela da Amadora, respectively.
A total of 50 official matches have been played, with the Reds winning 39 (78%) and drawing 9 (18%), across all competitions. Na condição de visitantes, the Reds have won 17 games (74%) and drawn five (22%) in 23 matches in the Portuguese top-flight. Last season, in 2022/23, Benfica won by 1-5.
Looking at the data collected on the Wyscout platform, the figures show a considerable difference in terms of attacking production by the two teams. The eagles remain the team with the most shots in the competition, with 92 (39.1% on goal and 32 from outside the penalty box), while Portimonense have only Gil Vicente behind them, with 47 shots in five games (38.3% on goal and 23 from outside the penalty box).
Benfica are also the team with the most one-on-one and dribbling plays in the league (180) and the most touches in the box (146).
In the build-up, Benfica are the team with the most passes (2,896), with a success rate of 86.4%. Portimonense are on 2011 (80.7%).
Defensively, the team led by Roger Schmidt has only allowed 50 shots, an average of 8.59 per game, while Portimonense has allowed 58 shots, an average of 10.34 per game. Benfica are the team with the fewest fouls so far (52) and Portimonense are close to the teams with the most infractions (77).
It's worth remembering that in the match in Vizela, where Benfica won by 1-2, the Eagles fielded Trubin, Bah, António Silva, Otamendi, Aursnes, João Neves, Kökcü, Di María, Rafa, João Mário and Musa.
In Guimarães, coach Paulo Sérgio's first win in the competition, by 1-2 against Vitória SC, he set out his team in a 4x3x3 formation, fielding the following players: Vinicius Silvestre, Pedrão, Filipe Relvas, Alemão, Seck, Dener, Carlinhos, Lucas Ventura, Hélio Varela, Jasper and Paulinho.
