"It's a feeling of pride, for all the work and sacrifice my family and I have made. The club continues to trust me, and it's up to me to give something back," João Rego told BTV.
"My main goal is to reach the first team and, in the short term, to try to win the UEFA Youth League again this year, but I'm focused on the present. I have to keep working and doing what I've been doing," he stressed.
Currently a member of Benfica's B team, despite still being a U-19 player, the midfielder/forward has already made his Liga 2 debut - on matchday 4, in Matosinhos, against Leixões, on September 3, 2023.
