Toulouse reached the Europa League play-offs in 2nd place in Group E, with 11 points, behind Liverpool. In fact, the French club beat Jürgen Klopp's side 3-2 as visitors. It was one of three wins at this stage. Their only defeat in the competition came in their trip to the city of the Beatles, where they were beaten 5-1. They also drew with Belgian side Union St. Gilloise (1-1 away and 0-0 at home).
The team from the south of France has never officially faced Benfica and its highlight is the recent French Cup win in 2022/23, which earned them qualification for the European competitions this season.
Toulouse is currently in 15th place in the league with 14 points from 16 games, the result two wins, eight draws and six defeats.
