Benfica's women's futsal team beat in the penalty shootout (5-4), after a 1-1 draw that went into extra time, and won the unprecedented title of Futsal Women's European Champions. Goalkeeper Marta Costa was the hero of the night, stopping four shots from the Italian champions.

The trophy the eagles' women's futsal team was missing has been won! On a night of strong emotions in Burela (Spain), Benfica lifted the trophy in their fifth appearance in the prestigious European tournament: a "Champions League", which has yet to be ratified by UEFA. The Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião swill now be the home of the sport's most important international trophy.
