It's not just in Europe, Benfica's growth in women's football is also evident worldwide. In the annual ranking carried out by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) for 2023, the Inspiradoras came 7th.

On Saturday, January 6, the IFFHS released the Women's Club World Ranking 2023, the results of which are based on the performance of teams in national and international competitions between the months of January (1st) and December (31st).

In a list that mirrors the world's top 200, Benfica is in 7th place with a total of 336 points, having only been beaten by Barcelona (1st) - the reigning European women's champion - Lyon (2nd), Corinthians (3rd), Chelsea (4th), Wolfsburg (5th) and Real Madrid (6th).

In the year 2022, it should be noted, in a top 40, the Inspiradoras were in 12th place, with 269 points.

On a European level, it should also be remembered that in the most recent update of the UEFA's women's team rankings, Benfica climbed to 12th place.
