Sport Lisboa e Benfica, represented by Toni, attended the official funeral ceremonies of Franz Beckenbauer, FC Bayern Munich's greatest legend. The event took place at the Allianz Arena on the afternoon of Friday, January 19.

A key figure in the Reds' midfield, Toni crossed paths with Franz Beckenbauer on the top tier of European football in the 1970s, creating a bond of mutual respect and admiration. Captains of their respective teams, they exchanged pennants in the matches in which Benfica and Bayern Munich met in the quarter-finals of the 1975/76 European Champion Clubs' Cup.

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
