Chandra Davidson is a new addition to the Sport Lisboa e Benfica's women's football team. The 25-year-old Canadian forward penned a contract until 2026.

From Dutch side Fortuna Sittard, where he scored two goals in 11 games this season, Chandra Davidson joins Benfica aware of the scale of the challenge for his career, in which he has represented Torreense (2020/21) and Sporting (2021/22 and 2022/23) in Portugal.

"I'm very happy to be here and to be part of something so big. When Benfica came up, I couldn't say no. It's a fantastic, historic club, and I'm very happy to be part of it", said the new number 25 of the Inspiradoras.

"I want to add value to the team, do my job and help achieve this season's goals. I'm a hard worker, you can always expect me to give my all on the pitch in every game," she stated to BTV.

"I know the fans, they're fantastic, I'm very excited to get to know the history of the club even better, my teammates, the coaching team and the staff", claimed Chandra Davidson, who, after signing his contract, had her first training session with the team on Tuesday, January 23, the day before the Reds travel to Sweden for the match against Rosengard on matchday 5 of Group A of the Women's Champions League.

"It's a fantastic stadium, I've been able to feel the energy, and I'm excited to be playing here. I know a few words in Portuguese, I know them all on the pitch," she said, making it clear that there will be no language barriers when adapting to the club and her new teammates.
