Benfica and Sporting played out the derby of matchday 5 of Group B of the Champions League in roller hockey on Thursday evening. At the Pavilhão Fidelidade, the Eagles won 3-1 and secured both the quarter-finals and 1st place in the group. Spectacular atmosphere!!
In the end, Benfica not only won (3-1), but also secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, as winners of Group B, with 12 out of a possible 15 points. In the final round, the Reds face Calafell, in a match scheduled for February 29 at 8 pm in the Joan Ortol Municipal Pavilion.
The sights are now set on the national competitions, where the eagles host... Sporting. That's right, after this Champions League clash, the two teams will meet again on Sunday, February 11, at 5 pm, at the Pavilhão Fidelidade, this time for round 17 of the 1st phase of the National Championship.
