GOAL FROM KÖKCÜ

Kökcü scored the first goal in Benfica's 3-1 win over Estoril, on matchday 25 of the Liga Betclic, which took place on Sunday, March 10, at the Estádio da Luz. Man of the Match, the Turkish midfielder didn't forget Minervino Pietra: "A big loss for Benfica."

After expressing his "condolences to the family" of the club's historic former player, who left us last Thursday, March 7, Kökcü spoke of a mission accomplished in the match against the Canarinhos: "We had to win, that's what we did. We're happy about that, about the three points."

Regarding the great goal he scored - a flag shot from outside the area, which went into the top left corner of the goal - and challenged to choose between it and the one he scored against Vitória SC, the number 10 spoke of "similar" goals, but confessed that he would still have to "review" the last goal.

"I like to shoot from distance. Playing further forward, it's easier to take advantage of these situations, and I know I have the quality to score goals like this," explained Kökcü, who also provided an assist.

Liga BPI | Cristina Prieto receives trophy for Best Player

Elected Best Player of the Liga BPI 2024/25 in the vote organized by the Players' Union, Cristina Prieto, Benfica's women's football team, received the trophy at Benfica Campus. Grateful for the distinction, the Spanish international told BTV about her “good season” and didn't forget the rest of the Reds' players. "It's an individual award and I couldn't have won it without my teammates. It was the team that made me win this award," said the goalscorer, who is in her first season at the club. "You never think the first year will be like this. I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me and the Benfiquistas. It's an award that shows that the season went well," said Cristina Prieto, an important element in winning the Fifth League Title in a row.

Pavlidis reaches 50 games with an eagle on his chest

Pavlidis reached his 50th appearance for Benfica's professional football team in the 1-2 over Estoril, on matchday 32 of the Liga Betclic, on May 3.
