António Silva and João Neves are the Benfica footballers included in Roberto Martínez's squad for the National Team's friendly matches against Sweden and Slovenia, whose extended list of 32 players was released this Friday, March 15, at Cidade do Futebol.

Having qualified for the final stage of Euro 2024, the Quinas will play two preparation matches, the first of which will be on Thursday, March 21, at 7:45 pm, at the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimarães, against their Swedish counterparts.

The following week, on March 26, at the Stozice Stadium in Ljubljana, also at 7:45 pm (mainland Portugal time), the National Team will face Slovenia.

Foundation offers a helping hand to Cape Verde

The President of the Republic of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves, visited Estádio da Luz for a meeting with Carlos Moia, executive president of the Benfica Foundation, dedicated to humanitarian aid for the island of São Vicente, recently affected by a severe storm. The head of state emphasized the “long-standing and close relationship” between Cape Verde and Benfica, noting that this cooperation “will have a very strong impact on São Vicente”. Carlos Moia stressed that “the people themselves and their needs are important,” guaranteeing that all hospital supplies will be in Cape Verde by mid-September.
