Hélder Malheiro, a referee from the AF Lisboa, was appointed by the Portuguese Football Federation's Refereeing Council to officiate the Benfica-Chaves match on matchday 27 of the Liga Betclic. The match takes place at the Estádio da Luz at 6 pm on Friday, March 29.

Hugo Coimbra and Gonçalo Freire will be the assistants and Halim Shirzad the fourth official.

The video referee (VAR) will be Luís Ferreira, and the assistant (AVAR) Luís Costa.

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.
