Di María

Di María scored Argentina's first goal

A stunner from Di María, at 52', through a free kick, sparked Argentina's comeback against Costa Rica, with the world champions winning the game 3-1. Otamendi led the defense from the start of the friendly played in the early hours of Wednesday morning, March 27, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the United States.

Di María once again wore the team captain's armband - in the absence of Lionel Messi, just as he had against El Salvador – and in the 52nd minute, after being fouled on the edge of the box, he showed his class to convert a direct free kick, putting the ball into the right corner of Keylor Navas' goal. Argentina had been down since the 34th minute, after Ugalde's goal.

Argentina scored two more goals, in the 56th and 77th minutes, through Mac Allister and Lautaro Martínez, respectively, following corners taken by the Benfica number 11.

Di María and Otamendi were subbed off in the 82nd minute.
