Farense-Benfica

Álvaro Carreras

Álvaro Carreras put his name on the list of goalscorers in official matches for Benfica for the first time. The left-footed player used his right foot to do it.

In the flash interview at the end of Farense-Benfica (1-3), a match on matchday of the Liga Betclic, played on Monday night, April 22, the winter signing expressed his satisfaction at the achievement.

"I'm proud! I came here to help the team and do my best, they welcomed me very well from the start, and we just have to keep working," he explained.

Looking back on the match, the Reds' No. 3 revealed that the team had achieved its objective.

"We always go in to win games, to do our best, and today [Monday] we did that very well, and I'm happy for the team and the goal," he said.

And when a defender who arrived not so long ago feels comfortable enough to step into the opposing penalty box and score, it can only mean that he feels more and more integrated.

"Yes, of course, the teammates do their best to make sure I adapt quickly and in the best way," he said.

As a goal-scoring left-back, and a Spaniard at that, comparisons with Grimaldo are inevitable.

"Everyone's different, he's got more experience, he's been doing very well, and I'm happy for him," he said of his compatriot.

Finally, time for a message to the fans about the remainder of the season: "We're going to win all four games, that's our goal now, to give our all so that we can continue to grow together and individually. Keep supporting us, we do everything we can to win, and that's how we'll keep working."
