The U19 Women's Football team of Benfica became national champions this Saturday, April 27.

At the Estádio Universitário (Field No. 5), the young eagles, coached by Bárbara Reis, faced Sporting away from home in matchday 6, the final clash of the championship qualifying round.

Unstoppable, the Benfica team beat their green and white rivals 1-7 to celebrate their success in the U19 Women's League.

This result gave Benfica the third title in this competition: the Glorioso had already won the competition in 2018/19 (9-a-side) and 2021/22.

Looking back over the season, in the first phase the reds scored 65 goals (best attack), finishing in the 2nd place with 33 points, after 11 wins in 14 games.

With a guaranteed place among the four teams competing for the title (Benfica, Torreense, Braga and Sporting), the reds totaled 14 points, scored 19 times (best attack, once again) and conceded just three goals (best defense) in the six rounds played in the championship qualifying phase.
