Bah, Benfica's right-back was a starter in Denmark's 2-1 win over Sweden in a match played on Wednesday, June 5, in Copenhagen as part of the preparations for the European Championship.

The eagles' defender was substituted in the 61st minute, after 41 ball touches and a pass efficiency of 75% (15 out of 20 attempts), according to data from the Sofascore platform. Bah also had two shots, one on goal, and three interceptions.

On Saturday, June 8, Denmark host Norway in Brondby in what will be Kasper Hjulmand's final preparation match for the tournament in Germany.

Denmark is in Group C of the European Championship, where they will face Slovenia (June 16 in Stuttgart), England (June 20 in Frankfurt) and Serbia (June 25 in Munich).

Also in Northern Europe, in Oslo, there was another player with a contractual link to Benfica, Andreas Schjelderup.

The winger, on loan at Nordsjaelland for the 2023/24 season, made his first official appearance for Norway's senior team in the 3-0 win over Kosovo, having already been capped by his country's youth team. Schjelderup came on in the 90th minute in place of Haaland, who scored all three goals.

A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
