After his gold medal in the 50-meter butterfly, Diogo Ribeiro won bronze in the 100-meter freestyle at the 2024 Spanish Open on Thursday afternoon. The competition is taking place in Palma de Mallorca until the 22nd.

The Benfica swimmer completed the distance in 48.96 seconds, having been beaten by Spaniards Sergio De Celis Montalbán (48.52 seconds) and Cesar Castro Valle (48.86 seconds), 1st and 2nd respectively.

In the qualifying rounds, Diogo Ribeiro came 4th with a time of 49.24 seconds. Miguel Nascimento's time of 59.58 seconds placed him 169th.

The Benfica swimmers will compete again this Friday, June 21, in the 50-meter freestyle.
