Third top scorer in the last edition (2023/24) of the Spanish Women's League with 17 goals, Cristina Martín-Prieto joins the Inspiradoras after two seasons with Sevilla, and revealed the reasons why she embraced the project.
"I was convinced by the ambition and the insistence on signing me. They made me feel very important, and that's to be valued at a club like Benfica", said the new player under coach Filipa Patão. As well as Sevilla, Cristina Martín-Prieto has played for UDG Tenerife, SC Huelva and Cajasol Sporting.

Impressed by the reality she encountered in her first experience away from Spain, the 31-year-old forward praised the greatness of Benfica, guaranteeing that she is committed to growing alongside quality players.
"I've seen what there is to see of Benfica's history over the last few days, I'm impressed and it's all been reflected in reality. Benfica women's football has been talked about for many years. It's a club where you can grow, and I like to surround myself with good teams and good players. I came here with the ambition to develop", she told BTV.
Regarding her goals for 2024/25, Cristina Martín-Prieto gave an ambitious speech: "The objectives will certainly be to become champions, to be true to our essence and to continue making history for Benfica".
