Women's football
The draw for the first qualifying round for the 2024/25 group stage has put the Danish champions in Benfica's way.
05 July 2024, 12h21
UEFA Women's Champions League
The four-time national champions face FC Nordsjaelland (Danish champions) in the semi-final of the first qualifying round, which will be played one-sided in Sarajevo.
In case of winning the 1st clash, Benfica will face the winner of SFK Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina)-Kí Klaksvík (Faroe Islands) in the same venue in another one-off match, which will determine who progresses to the 2nd qualifying round, which will then be played over two legs.
The 1st qualifying round of the Women's Champions League is one of the two preceding the group stage (with 16 teams) which starts in October. This phase is divided into two paths: the Champions Path and the Leagues Path.
In both cases, the 1st qualifying round will consist of two stages, each with a single match: semi-finals (September 4) and finals/3rd place play-off (September 7). The winners of each final (11 in the Path of Champions, four in the Path of Leagues) will advance to the 2nd round, whose matches are scheduled for September.
