Tyler Stone, the 32-year-old American power forward, has joined Benfica's men's basketball team, signing a contract valid until 2025.

Excited about the new stage in his career, Tyler Stone considers himself a “happy man to represent Benfica”. "I know the history, the superiority of the club, I'm very happy to be here and to represent Benfica," he said, speaking to BTV, accepting with open arms the “pressure” of representing a three-time national champion team: “Of course there's pressure, but I want to help put the team on another level so that we can remain competitive.”

The North American power forward has his sights firmly set on winning the league. "My expectations are to win, the coach [Norberto Alves] has made it very clear that it won't be easy, that it will be a fight. I'm ready for the challenge," he promised.

Tyler Stone introduces himself to the fans. “Expect energy, I'm going to work hard and play hard, bring energy and courage, I'm excited, and I want to enjoy it. Come out, let's have fun and win,” he said.

Born in Memphis, USA, Tyler Stone graduated from Southeast Missouri State University where, between 2010 and 2014, he took part in more than 30 games with points averages gradually rising between 14.7 and 19.3 per game.

The power forward has accumulated international experience in various clubs and leagues. He represented Denizli Basket (Turkey), Rethymno (Greece), Chiba Jets (Japan), Hapoel Galil Gilboa (Israel), Shimane Susanoo Magic (Japan), Enisey (Russia), MIA-Red October Cantù (Italy), Pirates Quebradillas (Puerto Rico), Happy Casa Brindisi (Italy), Nanterre (France), Gravelines (France), Rapid Bucharest (Romania) and Bnei Hertzeliya (Israel).

Precisely last season, in 2023/24, at Bnei Hertzeliya, Tyler Stone took part in 23 games, playing an average of 30.5 minutes, in which he scored 14.4 points per game, with shooting percentages of 45% from two-point range and 33.6% from three-point range.
