“I promise the fans that I'll always give 100 percent on the pitch”

Dribbling and overcoming opponents are some of the main attributes of Kerem Aktürkoglu, the Turkish international winger who looks forward to Benfica with the happiness of someone who wants and will do everything to “win trophies”.  

What does signing for Benfica mean to you? What do you know about the club?

Firstly, I'm very happy to be here. I know that Benfica is a big club in Europe. When my agent told me, I was very happy. I immediately wanted to come here to win trophies.

After your success in Turkey, you're now taking on a challenge abroad. What are your ambitions?

My ambition is always to win matches and to win trophies. This season [2024/25] we're going to win the league together. Those are my goals.

You're known for your magic with the ball. What are your main attributes? What can you promise?

I can promise the fans that I'll fight until the end. I'll always give 100 percent on the pitch. I'll always help my teammates. And, of course, we're going to win trophies!

What does expelliarmus [disarming technique] mean? Are you prepared to do it a lot at Benfica?

I really want to expelliarmus [leave opponents unarmed]. That's my goal and I hope to do that to my opponents.

What message do you want to leave the fans?

I'm very happy to be here. I've always wanted to play for the fans. For them. They support all the players. I've heard that. We'll do it together.
