Nuno Catarino, member of the Board of Directors of Benfica SAD and supervisor of the entire financial area, was present at the debate on “Context costs in Professional Football” that took place on Saturday, September 14, at the Super Bock Arena, in Porto, as part of the Thinking Football Summit 2024, organized by Liga Portugal.

In a panel that included the financial leaders of the top national teams, administrator Nuno Catarino stressed the need to improve the profitability of football as a product for Portuguese teams to be more competitive.

"We have to improve the profitability of the product. The increase in stadium attendance is excellent, and Sport Lisboa e Benfica is fortunate to have a waiting list of 14,000 people to buy the annual seat. I think the clubs have to cooperate much more with each other, especially in terms of innovation, so that the spectacle is better and we can avoid a potential decline in Portuguese football," emphasized Nuno Catarino, quoted by Liga Portugal.
