“We apply what the coach asks of us”

Scorer of the third goal in Benfica's 5-1 win over Gil Vicente, on matchday 7 of the Liga Betclic, Amdouni discussed his scoring debut and the work that has been done.

In the rapid interview area, the Swiss international praised a “very positive result” in a match with a high degree of difficulty.

"It was a very difficult game, because we faced a team that likes to have the ball, that likes to get forward and have possession. But we always pressed and ended up coming out of this game with a very positive result", said Amdouni, in statements to BTV.

On the subject of the four wins in as many games under Bruno Lage, the forward revealed that the team has applied the good work carried out at the Benfica Campus on the pitch.

"We're working very well, in training too, and we're applying what the coach tells us. Then we pay dividends from that work in the games. I think that was reflected today [Saturday, September 28]," he said.

AMDOUNI'S GOAL

Brought on in the 68th minute of the game against Gil Vicente in place of Aktürkoğlu, the new signing for 2024/25 made it 3-1 with a left-footed shot from outside the area and spoke about the emotions he felt on his scoring debut with an eagle on his chest.

"The feeling is magnificent, even more so when you score a goal here [at the Estádio da Luz]. It's an incredible feeling, and I hope we can continue with good results like this one," claimed the forward.
