Farense-Benfica

Álvaro Carreras

Álvaro Carreras scored Benfica's first goal in the 1-2 win over Farense on Matchday 10 of the Liga Betclic, a display that earned him the Man of the Match award.

In a match in which the Reds started losing, when the Algarve side opened the scoring in the 15th minute, it was the Spanish full-back who started the comeback, canceling out the Farense advantage six minutes later, bringing the team closer to their goal.

"Yes, we came with a clear objective, which was to get the three points. A great atmosphere, the fans, wherever we go, they're with us, it's spectacular to be able to play like this and at a club like this," started by saying Álvaro Carreras in a quick interview with Sport TV at the end of the game.

ÁLVARO CARRERAS' GOAL

The match was tied (1-1) at half-time, but the restart brought a Benfica team with more arguments to achieve victory. "We knew they were a difficult team and that they were going to give us a hard time. The manager, on the sidelines, saw things very easily for the 2nd half, made a couple of changes, and that was much better," said the left-back.

The versatility of the team was an aspect noted by the reporter from the station that broadcast the match, which was explained by the owner of the red No. 3 jersey: "It's true that we have a different plan for each game, depending on the opponent we play. With the quality we have, we have to win the game, and that's always the goal."

Álvaro Carreras also commented on the tight schedule. “We're playing every three days, with two recovery days, and the next day we have to travel, but we're managing to keep going, we have a clear objective, which is to win every point, and we're going to fight for every possible title,” he promised.

Challenged to confirm whether he was experiencing the best moment of his career, the Man of the Match replied without dazzle: “It's always nice to receive the Man of the Match award, we have to keep working, this is only the beginning.”
