Benfica's U-17 team won the Algarve Elite Cup 2024, a prestigious youth football tournament that took place between November 8 and 10 at the Estádio Dr. Francisco Vieira, em Silves.

In the final, after a 1-1 draw in regulation time, the young eagles beat the Mexicans from Pumas 3-4 on penalties.

Over the three days of the tournament, Benfica played a total of seven matches, of which they won four (one of which, the decisive one, on penalties), drew two and lost one (see results table).

A pioneering project, the Benfica Residential Academy, was officially inaugurated on Friday, June 13. The President of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Rui Costa, attended the ceremony, which took place at the University of Saint Leo in Tampa, Florida. Florentino, Renato Sanches, and Joshua Wynder, players from the Eagles' professional football team who were nurtured at the Club, also attended. In a symbolic moment, the three athletes briefly interacted with the younger players on the field with a ball. See the images here...

Now, all together!

In Tampa, Benfica's professional football team continued the preparations  for the 2025 Club World Cup on Friday, June 13, with international players Trubin, António Silva, Kökcü, Pavlidis, Aktürkoğlu, Barreiro, Schjelderup, Dahl, and Bajrami already in the working group. On the other hand, Rui Silva, Nuno Félix, and Eduardo Fernandes – all registered players – left the training camp.

On Friday, June 13, Benfica's professional soccer team added another chapter to its preparation for the Club World Cup at the Waters Sportsplex in Tampa, Florida. In the training session, Bruno Lage had 28 players available, with the arrival of internationals Trubin, António Silva, Kökcü, Pavlidis, Aktürkoğlu, Barreiro, Schjelderup, Dahl, and Bajrami, and the departures of Rui Silva, Nuno Félix, and Eduardo Fernandes (all registered). Before training, Dahl spoke to the press.
