Pavlidis, Barreiro, Tomás Araújo and Florentino highlighted Benfica's “good game” and the advantage they achieved against Monaco in the first leg of the Champions League knockout stage play-off.

PAVLIDIS
"The fans are incredible"
"[Player of the Match award] It's good, it's good that we won, it's good that we got the prize. I'm very happy about the win. I don't want to talk about ketchup, I just want to keep winning, scoring and helping the team. [The tie] It's not finished. We won a very important game. First, we'll have to focus on La Liga, and then we'll look ahead to the game against Monaco. This time, we'll have the help of our fans. [Do you think it could have been a bigger advantage?] No. I'm thinking that we have to play good football again and win games. [Monaco fans] They're incredible, wherever we go they support us, and I'm happy they're here. [Goal] The feeling was good when I scored. I was 50/50 on the offside position, but when the referee confirmed it was a goal, I was very happy to have scored what I think was a beautiful goal."
BARREIRO
"We're happy about the victory"
"Victory is important. We played a good game. We deserved to win the game, and it's important now, for next week, to have an advantage. [What did the coach ask of you?] Keep the result. Don't let the opposition have too many chances to be dangerous. Help defend as well and control the game, have even more possession. Yes, that was my job for today's game. [Florentino absent from 2nd leg match] NI knew that. We've finished the game, it's the win that's important, and then the rest. Now we have an important game at the weekend. That's where the focus is. [Opportunities to gain greater advantage] I think we had chances to score another goal, but I think the important thing is that we won the game. We've got that lead, now the game is over, and we're happy with the win. We need to keep going."
TOMÁS ARAÚJO
"We had hoped to score more goals"
"[Reason for substitution] I think it's just the load of games. My adductor is a bit tight. I was already feeling it a bit at half-time, and in the second half it got a bit worse, but I don't think it's anything special, and I hope to be back for the next game. [Playing as a right-back] I'm playing, that's the most important thing. I'm playing, I'm giving my all for the team, but of course I have some difficulties, I'm still learning, it's a process. But I think I've done well, and now we have to keep improving. [Harmony with António Silva and Otamendi] Yes, without a doubt, they have a lot of experience in this type of game, and it's always good to have them by my side. [Opportunities to extend the lead] We were hoping to score a bit more. In the first half we weren't that good on the ball, we were very nervous and couldn't get the ball, and in the second half we came on very well, scored straight away, and then, of course, with the sending off, we could have scored more, but even so, I think we played a good game, and we're proud."
FLORENTINO
"The team's work is very important"
"The objective was achieved, which was to win. Of course we could have scored more goals, but we're thinking very positively because we know we can take a good result into the second leg. We know that nothing has been solved, but we've taken a step forward. [Di María's injury] That's a question that's not up to me, it's up to the medical department. He's a great player, every time he's on the pitch he makes a big difference, and we hope he'll be back as soon as possible. [Suspension] Unfortunately, I won't be able to play in the second leg. I was conditioned, the game was also going through the middle a lot, with a lot of duels, and I had to be more cautious. Hence the substitution. To avoid a second yellow. [Important goals from Pavlidis] I think it's not just Pavlidis, all the players are important. Of course, goals give a striker confidence, but the work the team is doing is very important, because it's giving everyone confidence, and we're making good progress."
