Troféu Taça de Portugal

Portuguese Cup Trophy

Held on Wednesday, February 19, at Cidade do Futebol, the draw for the quarter-finals of the Women's Portuguese Cup determined that Benfica will host Sporting in this tie.

The current holders of the trophy, the Inspiradoras, leaders of the Liga BPI, will meet the league's second-placed team in a clash scheduled for the weekend of March 22 and 23.

It's the 4th time the teams have met in the competition, with the balance in favor of the Reds. In 2022/23, the Eagles won 5-0, in the quarter-finals, played at the Estádio da Luz. Last season, in the semi-finals, Filipa Patão's side saw off Sporting with a 1-0 triumph in the 1st leg and a draw in the 2nd leg (1-1).

There have already been three derbies this season: the Super Cup final match (L 1-2) and the two league matches (W 0-2) at Estádio José Alvalade and (D 1-1) at Estádio da Luz.

In the previous rounds of this edition of the Portuguese Cup, Benfica beat Amora (0-3) and also Racing Power (3-2). The Green and Whites beat Guia FC (0-10) and Marítimo (3-0).

Having beaten their eternal rivals, in the two-legged semi-finals, which have already been drawn, the four-time national champions will meet the winner of Valadares Gaia-Rio Ave in April.
