HIGHLIGHTS

Portuguese international Andreia Norton has extended her contract with Sport Lisboa e Benfica until 2028.

With 35 appearances for the Inspiradoras this season (so far), the midfielder has helped them win the fifth league title in a row and the League Cup. And there's still a Portuguese Cup final to play in!

With a smile on her face, Andreia Norton let the club's media know how she felt about signing a new contract.

"Happiness! It's always good to have this recognition from the Club and, as I said the first time, signing for Benfica and playing for Benfica is always good," said the 28-year-old attacking midfielder.

With one match left to play in the Liga BPI, the team coached by Filipa Patão has an unbeaten record (19 wins and 2 draws). Against SC Braga, their opponents in the final match of the competition (MD 22), on Sunday, May 11, the team is determined to finish the campaign without a defeat. “There's one game to go, and we're always going to go for the win, which is what we work for,” he said.

With 8 goals to her name so far in 2024/25, Andreia Norton has every intention of winning more titles, and climbing back up the steps to the Estádio Nacional stand to lift the Portuguese Cup in the final against Torreense on the horizon.

"The Portuguese Cup is what we're missing, we'll be focused on winning it. I think these last three years [he's been at Benfica since July 2022] have been pretty good. We've achieved good things for the club, and that's what we're here for, to win titles for Benfica," she said.

With her winning DNA very much in mind, Andreia Norton envisaged a future with more successes.

"To win everything and be at the top of every competition. At the international level, always go as far as possible, because Benfica only thinks big, and so do we," he emphasized, pointing to a ‘strong Benfica, looking for new and better things’ in the renewed Champions League in 2025/26.

Promising the fans "work, dedication, commitment, love for the club and always a lot of joy at work", Andreia Norton expressed her gratitude for the unconditional support of the Benfiquistas.

"They have been very important in our journey. They are part of our achievements, without them none of this would be possible. That's why I'm appealing to you to continue supporting us wherever possible, in Portugal and around the world," he said.
