Benfica players Mauro Furtado, Ricardo Neto, Rafael Quintas (1 goal), Gil Neves, and Anísio Cabral (1 goal) started in Portugal's 0-4 win over Albania (host team) on matchday 1 of Group A of the European U-17 Championship, which took place at the Kombëtare Arena (Tirana). Benfica Tomás Soares came on in the 60th minute, scored and assisted.

Next up is France in Round 2 of Group A of the competition. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm on Thursday, May 22, at the Kombëtare Arena in Tirana.
