In Group 2 of the World Sevens Football tournament, Benfica's women's football team made their debut in the competition against PSG on Wednesday night, May 21, at the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota in Estoril. The result was unfavorable (2-1 to the French).

In the first edition of this international 7-a-side football tournament, in which the matches are played in two 15-minute halves on half of the traditional pitch, there were moments of excitement, starting with the teams' entrances.

In the other Group 2 match, Manchester United beat Roma 2-3. This Thursday, May 22, the Inspiradoras have a double-header against the English team (4:30 pm) and the Italian team (8:30 pm).

"The main objective of the academy is to develop the athlete with the Benfica methodology and combine the academic part with the athletic part," Ruy Castelo Branco told BTV. “Feeling and experiencing this on a daily basis, especially the energy of the Benfica Campus, is enriching,” he said, noting that the goal is to continue cementing the Club's values in the United States.
