SL Benfica and Radomiak Radom: partnership made official
This five-year agreement represents another step in the internationalization of the Benfica brand and reinforces the club’s commitment to excellence in youth development on a global scale.
In an initial phase, the project will include coaches who will be responsible for implementing SLB's training model at the Polish club.
Benfica will be responsible for structuring and developing the youth system at Radomiak Radom, covering the Under-12 to Under-19 age groups.
The project also includes the creation of Powered by Benfica schools for young athletes aged 4 to 16, promoting a direct link to SLB’s training and coaching.
One of the key pillars of the partnership is the training of local coaches, with the aim of establishing a strong sporting culture aligned with the Eagles' values.
Miguel Reis, Benfica’s Global Expansion Coordinator, highlighted that "this partnership reflects the Club’s focus on continued international growth by building and consolidating strategic partnerships for the future. A club like Radomiak, with its size and position in an increasingly important league such as the Polish top flight, will allow Benfica to strategically position itself in Europe."
Davide Gomes, Technical Coordinator of International Projects, noted that this is the third top-division club Benfica has partnered with and the first in Europe.
"The trust shown by our partners only increases our responsibility, but we are confident we will help Radomiak develop and discover talent in Poland through the Benfica methodology, establishing itself as the leading youth development club in the Polish league," he said.
Radomiak's president, Gregorz Gilewski, said that this "is a moment of great happiness for the club," stressing: "It's a very important step for the growth of our project."
Confident in the value of the partnership, he added: "We want to learn and grow with a club of Benfica’s stature, and we are confident that this collaboration will bring many successes in the future."
In a later phase, the project foresees the expansion of technical cooperation to additional age groups, as well as the development of more Powered by Benfica schools across Poland. This is yet another milestone in Benfica’s mission to train, develop, and inspire young athletes around the world, promoting the Club’s values of sporting excellence.
