Samuel Soares, Benfica's goalkeeper, has been called up by the U-21 National Team for the final phase of the European Championship, which takes place from June 11 to 28 in Slovakia.

The player from the Reds is part of Portugal's 26-man squad for the tournament, of which only 23 will make the final list, which will be announced on June 3.

The Portuguese squad will begin their training camp on Wednesday, May 28, at Cidade do Futebol, and will play their first match in the group stage of the competition at 8:00 pm on June 11, against France. This will be followed by a match with Poland at 8:00 pm on June 14, and will end with a clash with Georgia at 5:00 pm on June 17.

Portugal are in Group C of the competition and will play all their matches at the Sihot Stadium in Trencin. The top two teams from each of the four groups will advance to the quarter-finals.
