Florentino lamented Benfica's “lack of luck” in the Portuguese Cup final.
25 May 2025, 21h57
Florentino
"We didn't have the luck of the game, because we conceded the goal [1-1] on the last play. It was a shot we should have stopped with a foul, but for the whole 90 minutes we were superior. Of course, they were a bit on top at the end, but that was normal for the game. But what we did was very good and, as I said at the start, it was a lack of luck," analyzed the midfielder in post-match statements to Sport TV and RTP.
The eagles' number 61 also believes that “there are one or two moves” in which they “have to be more mature”, adding that they will “now rest to come back with a fresher head”.
"Of course [the season] didn't go the way we wanted. There are some things we need to think about so that we can come back stronger next year. We wanted to make our fans happy, because they deserve it, they've been supporting us all season. We didn't manage it, but now we're going to clear our heads and come back stronger," he said.
Florentino also left Benfiquistas with a word for the future: "It's about promising to fight. Promise to play the games to win and to achieve our goals."
