Dahl signs for Benfica until 2029

Sport Lisboa e Benfica exercised its purchase option with AS Roma, as provided for in the agreement signed with the Italian club during the last winter transfer window, for the permanent transfer of Samuel Dahl. The left-back has signed a contract that ties him to the club until June 30, 2029.

With the eagle on his chest, Dahl has played 18 official matches so far, distributed between Liga Betclic (11), Portuguese Cup (4), and Champions League (3). He debuted with the Sacred Mantle on February 15, 2025, when the Reds traveled to Santa Clara for a match on matchday 22 of Liga Betclic. The young Swedish international played the entire game.

Dahl participated in 10 more matches in the main national competition, recording four assists. The first came in the victory against Nacional in round 25 (3-0), followed by two assists against AVS (6-0) in round 31.

Also in the victory against Estoril (1-2) on matchday 32, the number 26 shirt played a direct role in the outcome with another assist.

In the Portuguese Cup, where he played four matches, he made his mark with an assist in Benfica's victory over SC Braga (1-0).

Dahl also played for Benfica in the Champions League, appearing in three matches: against Monaco in the second leg of the playoff, and against Barcelona (home and away) in the round of 16.
