TRAINING SESSION

With 28 players under coach Bruno Lage, Benfica's professional football team continued its preparations on Friday, June 13, at the Waters Sportsplex in Tampa, Florida, for its opening match in the Club World Cup, scheduled for Monday, June 16, against Argentina's Boca Juniors in Miami.

In the countdown to the first match of the competition, Bruno Lage led a training session attended by international players Trubin, António Silva, Kökcü, Pavlidis, Aktürkoğlu, Barreiro, Schjelderup, Dahl, and Bajrami. On the other hand, Rui Silva, Nuno Félix, and Eduardo Fernandes –  all registered players – left the training camp.

The first few minutes of the training session, which were open to the media, were marked by intensity and constant ball possession. Before training, Dahl, now linked to Benfica until 2029, spoke to the press (see video below).

In Group C of the competition, in addition to Argentina's Boca Juniors, New Zealand's Auckland City and Germany's Bayern Munich are also included as opponents for the Eagles.
