Samuel Soares, a player from Benfica's professional football team, played the full 90 minutes of Portugal's Under-21 national team's 4-0 win over Georgia on matchday 3 of Group C of the European Championship.

At Shiot Stadium in Trencin (Slovakia), the goalkeeper once again kept a clean sheet, as he had done in the 5-0 win over Poland on matchday 2 and in the 0-0 draw with France in the opening round of the competition.

The game was marked by Odisharia's sending off in the 5th minute. Henrique Araújo, a striker linked to Benfica, sealed the result (4-0) in the 90th+5 minute, converting a penalty kick.

With this victory, Portugal, in first place in the group, secured its place in the next round of the European Under-21 Championship.
