Dahl, Benfica's full-back, assured that the Reds “always have the mentality to beat” their opponents, whoever they may be, in the preview of the match against Bayern Munich, for the third round of Group C of the 2025 Club World Cup.

What are your expectations for the game against Bayern Munich?

It will be a difficult, tough game. We always go into games with the same winning mentality, but we know it will be a difficult game, and I hope it ends well.

What are your expectations of returning to your original position on the left wing? Do you expect to be in the starting eleven?

I hope so, that's all I can say. The coach chooses the starting eleven, and I, of course, hope to play, whether it's four, three, five [defensive line]... It's not up to me, and I think I can play in any of them. I hope to get as many minutes as possible.

Did you see any videos of Benfica's last game against Bayern in the Champions League?

I haven't had the opportunity to study this game much so far.

What qualities do you most admire in Bayern?

They are very good with the ball, and I think we can exploit that when we have the ball, if we can keep it for a long time and make them run. We can be good with the ball and also exploit some counterattacks.

Tomorrow [Tuesday], you will probably play on the left, after playing on the right. Do you feel more comfortable? Because Bayern Munich is a stronger team, with very technical and fast wingers.

Yes, I feel more comfortable on the left, that's where I play most of the time. Of course I feel more comfortable there, but if I play on the right, I'll give it my best shot, and I hope to do a good job there. But yes, of course, the left side is more comfortable for me.

It will be like a Champions League game for you, you are used to playing this type of match, but what do you think of this FIFA Club World Cup? Are you enjoying it? You have already faced Boca Juniors and Auckland City. There has been a lot of talk about the South American teams, are you enjoying it?

Yes, in this group, there are three good matches, we played two and we have one last one. We came here with the coach urging us to be more aggressive on the field. That's what we've been working on, being more aggressive, and we saw in the first game, against Boca, that this is necessary. Yes, it's been good.

You are a different player from [Álvaro] Carreras. What can you bring to the team that he cannot?

That's a tough question. He's a top player, and I watch him when he's playing, and I'm not. I try to do the same as him when I'm playing, but maybe he's a little faster than me, a little taller, so he can do things more easily in the air. I hope I can do at least as well as him, but I'm always trying to do my best with the ball and, of course, defend one-on-one, or make double teams, or whatever is necessary offensively.

Are you ready to replace it permanently?

[Laughter] I hope so.
