Good mood at work before playing the round of 16

TRAINING SESSION

Benfica's professional football team trained on Friday, June 27, at Waters Sportsplex in Tampa, Florida, preparing for their match against Chelsea in the round of 16 of the Club World Cup. The first 15 minutes were open to the media.

With all 28 players available for the competition, Bruno Lage's team held their final training session before flying to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they will compete for a place in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Club World Cup at 9 pm Portuguese time (4 pm local time) on Saturday, June 28.

During the period when training was open to the media, a good mood prevailed at work, and the ball was present in the exercises carried out, always conducted under high temperatures, around 29 degrees, and with a humidity level of 74%. In Charlotte, the forecast high for Friday and Saturday is 33 degrees, with lower humidity than in Tampa, around 64%—conditions slightly less adverse than those the team faced in the match against Bayern Munich(1-0), to close out the group stage on Tuesday, June 24.

Also on Friday, June 27, in the United States (and already turning into the early hours of Saturday morning in mainland Portugal), Bruno Lage and some athletes will preview the clash with Chelsea at the venue of the match, in Charlotte, at Bank of America Stadium. The mixed zone preview is scheduled for 6:45 pm local time (11:45 pm Portuguese time), and the coach's press conference for 7:00 pm local time (12:00 am Portuguese time).
