I'm delighted to congratulate the women's roller hockey team on winning their 12th consecutive national championship!

This title rounds off a memorable season at national level, as we had already won the Elite Cup, the Super Cup and the Portuguese Cup. I would therefore like to congratulate the coaching team, the players and the staff for another successful season, especially this 12th championship in a row.

Benfica fought until the end for a different outcome in the last 16 of the Club World Cup, but after extra time they fell to Chelsea (1-4), thus ending their journey in the first edition of the competition in the United States of America. In a game that was interrupted in the 86th minute due to the threat of a thunderstorm and ended almost five hours after the kick-off, Di María leveled the score at 90'+5' (1-1), taking the match into 30 minutes of extra time, during which time the result hung in the balance for the English at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
