Benfica B beat Amora 3-0 in a match held at Benfica Campus.
12 July 2025, 17h21
Rui Silva with Gonçalo Moreira
At halftime, the young Eagles were already winning 1-0, thanks to a goal scored by Rui Silva (15').
In the second half, Francisco Silva scored twice, in the 59th minute (2-0) and in the 71st minute, setting the final score at 3-0.
At the end of the match, Paul Okon spoke of “good feelings”. “It's always good to come back from vacation and feel the grass”, he said in statements to BTV.
The midfielder highlighted the importance of “intensity and mentality” that is put “on the field” at this stage of the season.
Helping some young players take their first steps in the B team, Paul Okon highlighted their “great quality”. “They are preparing to become men and to play against very experienced teams. It's a very young team with a lot of quality”, he stated.
The training match against Amora marked the end of the first days of preparation for the team coached by Nélson Veríssimo. It was a “very long” week, in which, in the Australian midfielder's view, “a lot of work” was done. “Now it's time to continue”, he stressed.
The Reds will play again on Tuesday, July 15 (10:30 am), against SU 1.º Dezembro, in their second friendly. The match will take place at Benfica Campus.
